Fundamentals of the state policy of the Russian Federation in the sphere of healthy nutrition of the population for the time period up to 2020 were ratified.

Fundamentals of the state policy of Russia in the sphere of healthy nutrition of the population for the time period up to 2020 were ratified by the Direction of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1873-p from 25.10.2010. As the state policy of the RF in the sphere of healthy nutrition in the Fundamentals is understood the complex of measures aimed at creation of conditions providing gratification of requirements of different group population in healthy nutrition with account of their traditions, habits and economic situation.
It is stated that from the moment of adoption of Conception on the state policy in the sphere of healthy nutrition of the RF population for the time period up to 2005 (approved by the Resolution of the RF Government № 917 from 10.08.1998) improvements in the sphere of nutrition of the population, positive changes for the better in the organization of children’s and dietary (clinical and prophylactic) nutrition have taken place. However, in spite of positive tendencies, the nutrition of the majority of the adult population as usually doesn’t correspond to principles of healthy nutrition.
In particular, as the main tasks of the governmental policy in the sphere of healthy nutrition were declared the following: expansion of the home production of the basic kinds of food raw goods meeting present-day requirements on quality and security; development and introduction of innovative technologies, including bio- and nanotechnologies into agriculture and food industry; improvement of nutrition organization in organized communities; population nutrition monitoring. Mechanisms of realization of the governmental policy are: development and adoption of technical regulations related to food products; increasing the responsibility of producers for output of food  products which are not corresponding to prescribed requirements and are falsified; improvement of control mechanisms after the quality of food products and food raw goods, produced on the territory of the RF and supplied from abroad; intensification of the healthy public nutrition propaganda, including usage of mass media.
